"Merryda Wiki World.Secret Camp" is a forest retreat camp created by United Investment Merryda Hotel Management Group in collaboration with Wiki World. Located on Cihui Street in Dongxihu District, Wuhan, this project is set within a metasequoia forest inhabited by migratory birds, where over a dozen treehouses are discreetly nestled. It is a magical project—each treehouse seems to have evolved from the birds themselves, each one a friend to the birds perched among the treetops. On ordinary days, you can come here to chirp and chatter along with the birds, keeping them company. This project is also part of the "Wiki Building School" co-building with nature initiative, representing another attempt by our team to explore the diversity of living spaces.
Situated within a metasequoia forest frequented by migratory birds, the design draws inspiration from local avian life, seeds, plants, and bird eggs. Rather than imposing human-centered forms onto the site, the treehouses are conceived as elements that belong to the forest itself—structures that coexist with nature and quietly integrate into its existing order.

Therefore, Wiki World imagined that the migratory birds transformed into cabins, each with its own unique story and texture: Time Machine, Nomadic land, Playground, Daydreamer, Red Mindmill, and Unicorn. "Time Machine" is a silver time machine at the edge of the forest, as if gently placed there by a mysterious figure. It gleams like Doraemon's Anywhere Door, sparking curiosity about where one might travel upon entering. "Daydream" is a treehouse wrapped in mirrored metal, transforming the forest into a kaleidoscope of surreal reflections. In this private woodland, sunlight bounces off surfaces, blurring the lines between reality and illusion. This is a treehouse that encourages dreaming, where you can sleep up high among the birds. "Red Windmill" is the dancer of the forest, clad in pure, unadulterated red. The crimson space feels like a theater amidst the trees, with metasequoias and palm trees as performers swaying gracefully in the wind. "The Unicorn" resembles a mythical creature of the forest, draped in silver armor, its loft rising like a horn pointing skyward.

"Wiki Secrets" also functions as an open forest art gallery and a nature school, with exhibitions and spatial installations quietly dispersed throughout the woods. Consistent with Wiki World's long-standing respect for nature, every tree on the site has been preserved. All treehouses are built as fully elevated, independently developed prefabricated timber structures, allowing the ground to remain unhardened and free of artificial landscaping. In doing so, the original ecological character of the metasequoia forest is preserved to the greatest extent, while construction becomes a collaborative process between the design team and users.
The cabins intentionally adopt a compact scale. By embracing "smallness," the architecture brings occupants closer to materials and heightens their sensitivity to the surrounding environment. In the forest, one is invited to slow down—walking barefoot, listening to fallen leaves gently crushed underfoot on the terrace.

The entire building adopts a glued timber structure, with each custom-shaped component and joint digitally designed and precisely fabricated, achieving a fully prefabricated construction system. In terms of living space, there is no single standard answer—each dwelling reflects a personal understanding of life. From this idea, the concept of a "2-meter-wide home" emerged.

Natural buildings are conceived as modular systems, much like Lego blocks. Small cabins are placed within the forest as individual units, lightly touching the ground. The façades are finished using a traditional charred-wood technique, with carbonized timber boards treated by hand. All cabins are connected through small metal components that allow for repeated assembly and disassembly. Through this approach, the project establishes a precise relationship between architecture and its natural surroundings.. Nature itself becomes the primary framework in which the architecture exists.
