本案旨在摒棄繁雜修飾，以寫實手法呈現建築的真實樣貌。大地色調的擋土牆如岩層般拔地而起，清晰界定出三層露台，以內部結構呼應地勢起伏。結構以似高原般的混凝土平台為核心，使建築往四周展開，迎向沙漠群山與綠洲景色。住宅猶如山坡的延伸體，與環境深度融合。團隊更在日照與視野之間取得完美平衡：建築北側引入極佳光照，南側則面向壯麗景觀。建築自然融入原生植被與坡地，且施工過程中並無移除任何當地樹木。

Brutal Honesty is a project rooted in direct expression and authenticity. Earth-colored retaining walls rise from the terrain like abstract rock formations, defining terraces and partitions that echo the contours of the land. These elements organise interior spaces and reflect habitation, embracing a narrative shaped by its users. Supporting a distinctive concrete plane — a grey plateau — the structure opens to 360-degree views of the Andean desert mountains and oasis below. The house becomes a tectonic extension of the hillside, establishing a profound bond with its environment.

機能上，住宅沿垂直軸線劃分為三層：地下室、地面層、頂層。以廚房作為核心，公共場域環繞其周圍，並以三組樓梯銜接，創造多樣路徑與豐富的空間體驗。四座露台則將住宅延伸至戶外，主露台使客餐廳延展至景觀之中；毗鄰的烤肉區則適用於大型聚會；第三座露台連接遊戲室，成為兒童專屬的活動場域；屋頂則規劃瑜伽區、按摩浴缸與花園以營造靜謐氛圍。立面則以土色混凝土牆勾勒量體輪廓，同時遮蔽強烈日照。特別的是，為使混凝土呼應當地語境，其製作過程歷經反覆調整，為使其與土地色澤完美契合。團隊細膩掌控材質且重視永續實踐，以熱絕緣、太陽能電器與廢水回收系統降低能耗。無論於視覺或意義層面上，本案皆造就建築與地景相輔相成的共生願景。

Located in Pedemonte, Mendoza, the site requires balancing solar orientation and panoramic views. North provides optimal light, while South offers striking vistas. The house integrates into the slope and native vegetation —no tree was removed. It unfolds in three vertical stages of perception: inside the earth (basement), in-between (ground floor), and outside (first floor). At its heart is the kitchen, surrounded by communal spaces and linked by three staircases offering alternative routes and experiences. Four terraces extend the house outward. The main terrace continues living and dining into the landscape; the BBQ area hosts gatherings; a third terrace, linked to the playroom, creates a semi-independent zone for children. Above all, the rooftop plateau offers space for yoga, a fireplace, jacuzzi, and gardens, framing the surroundings and inviting stillness. On the canyon-facing side, earth-toned concrete walls define the massing and shield from southern exposure. The structure emerges from the hill, yet asserts a new identity — what the design team calls ''OF. Abstract Nature''

設計團隊以「抽象自然」理念出發，讓整體結構彷若自山坡孕育而生，同時自體發展全新樣貌。住宅開放而隱密，公私領域的界線若隱若現。設計上更重視基地原始樣貌，讓「原生居所」不單是建於特殊地景上的建築，更是山體的延伸，最終成就一座展現原始粗曠感、融入土地的居所。

Exposed concrete, resonating with local materials and crafted with regional builders, was refined through on-site testing to match the earth's hues. This material precision anchors the house visually and symbolically. Sustainability is central: passive strategies — insulation, shading, ventilation — lower energy demand, while solar panels, heaters, and a greywater system enhance performance. The clients envisioned a home fostering connection while preserving privacy, maintaining dialogue between communal and intimate spaces. Their brief emphasised views, vegetation, and living with the land, not just on it. In essence, Brutal Honesty is a built extension of the mountain — a dwelling that neither conceals nor embellishes, but exists in open dialogue with its surroundings. It celebrates nature's raw presence through architecture both sincere and grounded.
