Pictograma is a comprehensive concept dedicated to the rescue, research, and celebration of the agricultural roots of the Valle de Guadalupe through the cultivation of the Grenache grape. ''Pictograma'' in the Valle de Guadalupe focuses on a winery that maximizes efficiency in wine production. Inspired by the organic shapes of its territory, the circular plant and radial layout eliminate unnecessary journeys between processes, from the reception of raw materials to the tasting room.

Circulation is organized through a perimeter portico that allows for cross ventilation and shaded spaces, evoking 16th-century architecture. Located on the Wine Route in Ensenada, Baja California, the winery also includes the cultivation of grapes and the production of olive derivatives such as oils and fragrances, as well as lavender and orange trees. The 1,963 m² circular structure is composed of 12 trapezoidal reinforced concrete radial walls and vaults that respond to the geometry of the project. Each wall defines a space in the architectural program, including tasting rooms, fermentation, bottling, barrels, aging, olive oil, laboratory, maneuvering yard, and interior garden. The project promotes sustainable practices that balance environmental development with construction. The facade, with a slope of local soil, optimizes earth movement and minimizes the impact on the terrain. Endemic plants integrate the project with the landscape of the Valle de Guadalupe. The central courtyard, paved with local bricks, is permeable and harmonizes with the environment.

During the rainy season, runoff from the vaults is captured by a central channel in the walls, directing water to the courtyard and then to the subsoil. The work stands out for the recovery of artisanal construction techniques that maximize the properties of concrete. The radial layout and the use of pigmented concrete allow for efficient construction processes and an image consistent with the surroundings. The combination of modern technology and traditional techniques is evident in the metallic and fiberglass formwork, as well as in the brick vaults.
