Located in the city center, the apartment faces the constraints of a dense urban setting, yet its top-floor position affords comparatively open views. Taking the window as a point of departure, the design team rearticulated the spatial endpoints to restore a sense of openness, framing Taipei 101 like a carefully composed picture within the interior. Enveloping window frames and subtly angled surfaces introduce moments of pause, lending everyday views a sense of calm and visual breathing room.

As the homeowner spends long hours producing visual content at home, the residence was conceived as both a living space and a environment for work and filming, requiring ample daylight and uncluttered backdrops throughout. The layout favors permeability over enclosure: a work area positioned near the entry is defined by fully retractable sliding doors and connected to large floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing the space to shift fluidly between focused use and open living. The elongated proportions of the living room are intentionally preserved, with furniture placement and layered lighting redefining how the space is used. A restrained palette and softly rounded furnishings give the room a quiet, gallery-like presence. Projection replaces a conventional television, keeping the walls clear and the visual focus to move freely across the space. In the dining area, a concealed lift-up range hood maintains a composed, unobtrusive atmosphere, while the private zones adopt a slower, relaxed rhythm. In the main bedroom, an expanded bathroom and dressing area respond to the couple's shared routines, with a lit mirror extending the visual axis and allowing the bathroom to function as an interior endpoint that preserves openness. The guest room is designed for short stays, with open furnishings to create a hotel-like retreat for visiting friends and family.

The interior is grounded in low-saturation earth-toned neutrals, providing a calm backdrop that allows people, objects, and daily moments to come forward. Wood veneer, stone, and a unified paint finish extend across floors, walls, and ceilings, softening boundaries and enabling the space to transition seamlessly between living and filming. Tonal variations emerge naturally through shifting light conditions rather than deliberate contrast. Lighting is carefully calibrated, with adjustable color-temperature fixtures supporting filming needs and softer, glare-free illumination guiding nighttime movement. Through a precise balance of color, light, and volume, the home becomes both a place to live and a setting readily adaptable for image-making.
