Situated within a district encircled by high-rise buildings, the residence still enjoys ample daylight and open views. The original dual-unit layout included oversized corridors and transitional spaces that limited usable living areas, prompting the design team to reorganize circulation by reducing the foyer and hallway footprint to expand the living–dining area and bedrooms. At the owner's request, the kitchen island was positioned as the home's spatial anchor—overseeing movement and orienting toward the exterior view — while a sweeping curved window softens the linear architecture and lets light and scenery drift more naturally through the space.

Material selection was guided by the owner's sensitivity toward touch and practicality, favoring smooth, easy-to-maintain, and minimal finishes. The walls are coated with fine-textured plaster instead of rough paint; tiles were used in the foyer, kitchen, and storage room for durability and ease of cleaning; and large-format porcelain slabs and engineered stone were applied in wet areas and on kitchen countertops to avoid maintenance and discoloration issues. Furniture choices also follow everyday usability: a curved sofa anchors the relaxing atmosphere in the living room and echoes the home's overarching curved design language, the public areas maintain a clean visual identity through crisp lines and light hues, and the bedrooms adopt warm tones and modular storage systems for flexibility and order.

Light becomes an integral layer of the project. Responding to the owner's preference for softer illumination, the scheme relies on recessed fixtures and layered indirect glow to create a warm, unobtrusive atmosphere after dusk. Material contrast and lighting hierarchy enrich the space: in the dining area, semi-transparent spherical pendants combined with a recessed ceiling detail produce a delicate, star-like effect; at the entrance, a circular recessed ceiling element with soft indirect light establishes a quiet sense of arrival while gently guiding movement toward the main living zone.

Ultimately, the design does not rely on complex gestures, but on the balance between simplicity and intention. By day, natural light lends the home a quiet, measured clarity; by night, layers of soft illumination unfold across walls, ceilings and floors, easing the rhythm of return. Through calibrated decisions in light, materials, and circulation, the design team shapes a home that feels restrained yet detailed — pure in form, and quietly attuned to daily life.
