白山住宅
此宅為位處日本東京的翻新公寓，面積僅約57平方米，卻以其得天獨厚的條件脫穎而出。坐落於陽光充沛之處，宅邸窗外正對著一片廣闊的植物園，為都市生活注入豐富的自然底蘊與生機，成為城市與自然和諧共生的縮影。
This project involved renovating a 57-square-meter condominium unit in central Tokyo, Japan. Despite its compact size, the corner unit benefits from abundant sunlight and overlooks a vast botanical garden, bringing a natural, vibrant element to urban living.
這棟已有50年歷史的建築以混凝土結構為基底，承載著時間的軌跡。在翻新過程中，團隊選擇將所有舊有裝修拆除，讓原始的混凝土框架重見天日。粗獷的結構與新材料的加入相互輝映，形成鮮明卻和諧的對比。在這場舊與新的對話中，空間的故事與設計的靈魂自然浮現，家具與推拉門取代了傳統牆體，免去不必要的隔間，除了維持空間通透，更賦予其輕盈與寬敞的特質，同時簡化施工過程，使整體設計顯得純粹且自然。
The building, a 50-year-old concrete structure, was stripped of its old finishes to expose the raw concrete framework, revealing its historic character. The design blends this rugged structural base with modern materials, creating a striking yet harmonious contrast. This juxtaposition allows the space to tell its own story, merging past and present in a way that feels both intentional and balanced. The layout was planned using furniture and sliding doors rather than traditional walls. This approach enhances openness and lightness, creating a sense of spaciousness uncommon in such a small apartment. Removing unnecessary partitions and allowed the design to remain pure and fluid.
廚房作為家庭生活的核心，被巧妙地安置於場中央。站在中島前，視線自由延伸至餐廳、書桌與臥室，形成互動性極高的生活場域。此外，為避免廚房後方形成視覺上的「死角」，一條通往客廳的小徑營造出流暢動線，創造出空間靈活性與層次感，在坪數有限的住處，營造自由舒展的生活氛圍。
At the heart of the home is the kitchen. Positioned strategically, it offers clear views of the dining area, desk space, and bedrooms, facilitating interaction and connectivity. To ensure no area felt closed off, a pathway behind the kitchen leads to the living room, creating smooth circulation and adding a layered spatial dynamic. Despite its limited size, the home achieves an expansive and open ambiance through this thoughtful flow.
材料選用上，設計師著重溫潤與粗獷的對比，以櫻桃木細膩溫暖的質感，柔化混凝土的生硬質地，再以窗外植物園中的櫸樹林為靈感，利用櫸木打造長書桌與咖啡桌，實現室內外的無縫呼應，茶几更以回收的櫸木製成，透過賦予舊材料全新生命，增添永續價值與故事感。廚房後方牆面設有一面大型鏡子，低調消隱於空間中，透過反射增強視覺深度，且將綠意折射入室，成為建築與自然之間的無形橋樑。
Materials were carefully chosen to enhance the interplay of textures. Cherry wood, with its fine grain and warm tone, softens the industrial feel of the concrete. Inspired by the zelkova trees visible from the windows, the designers used zelkova wood for the long desk and coffee table. The coffee table, crafted from recycled zelkova wood, adds a sustainable touch while imbuing the space with character and a connection to nature. A large mirror was installed on the wall behind the kitchen. It visually enlarges the space, enhances the depth of the layout, and reflects the greenery outside, effectively bringing nature indoors.
儘管面積有限，此宅卻以流暢動線、精選材質與細膩規劃，注入無限的生活可能。混凝土框架記載著時光記憶，櫻桃木與櫸木則成就此屋的柔暖氣息。在自然與都市的交織中，這座小公寓不僅成為一方秘境，亦詮釋出質樸而富有深意的生活哲學。
The concrete framework preserves the memory of the building's history, while the cherry and zelkova wood infuse warmth and softness. In blending urban and natural elements, this small condominium not only serves as a tranquil residence but also exemplifies a thoughtful, minimalist philosophy of living.

Things bigger than buildings include the sky, the earth, the sun, the stars, and the universe.
We believe that if you imagine that it would be wonderful to have the moon inside a building, or that it would be interesting to have clouds inside, even if that is not a physical fact, it will greatly enrich the lives and activities of the people born there.
Our goal is not to simply decorate buildings beautifully, but to incorporate the larger world into our lives and connect it to the way people live their lives.
At Takuro Yamamoto Architects, we use the idea of what is the most fulfilling thing that can be contained within a building as a starting point for our imagination, and we aim to propose ways to make life within it more rewarding.
