綠意盎然的行人綠園道旁，此宅靜靜佇立，面向街區日常往來的風景，居民行走與停留的片段，成為建築日常的一部分。設計跳脫線性，在平房建築中置入新的空間場景，邀請居者與往來居民互動，使地方的生活節奏與生態變化，隨時間慢慢滲入建築之中。
Located along a verdant pedestrian greenway in Nerima, Tokyo, this house engages directly with the everyday landscape of the neighbourhood, where residents cultivate flowers, trees and pass by on their daily walks. Rather than facing this linear environment, the project inserts a new spatial scene into it—one that invites interaction and gradually becomes part of the local ecology.
基地面積僅佔49平方公尺，因應法規所允許的12公尺臨路條件，將量體往垂直方向而建。相較於周邊緊貼街道排列的連棟住宅，量體刻意後退，為前方預留一處露台與小型前庭。露台作為彈性空間，可置放簡易手作與修繕製品；前庭則保留適度尺度，讓植栽能有充足光線自在生長，為社區景觀增添一抹綠意。立面設計取徑自周邊樹木曲與直線條，透過平面與曲面的交錯鋪陳，並結合日本傳統「一文字葺」工法鋪設銅板，以及不同方向配置的日本檜木，共同構築外觀層次。不鏽鋼曲面屋頂則將整體量體收束其中，不拼貼多重設計，這並非追求單一強烈的視覺主題，而是建立一種開放的狀態，接納想像、環境與行為等帶來的變化。
In contrast to the continuous row of houses built tightly to the street edge, the volume is intentionally set back to create a terrace and a small front garden. The terrace is designed for casual DIY use, and the garden is sized to allow the residents to tend to plants incrementally as part of their daily routines. Over time, these outdoor spaces are meant to act as an extension of the greenway, contributing to the collective landscape of the community. At the entrance, a bamboo flower vase fixed with traditional Japanese nails allows seasonal blooms to be displayed as a gesture to the street. The façade responds to the mixed curvature and verticality of surrounding trees, combining planar and curved surfaces with materials that transform over time—copper and Japanese cypress. Copper panels are installed in a traditional ichimonji-buki pattern, while hinoki is used as vertical cladding with varying orientations. A stainlesssteel curved roof unifies the form. The intention was not to impose a single dominant expression nor to create a visual collage, but to establish an appearance that opens outward—inviting imagination, ambiguity, and change.
室內被構想為垂直空間，由層板錯落、空間節點交織而成，形成連續且立體的生活場域。一樓中，外牆的曲面與厚度在室內延續為一根圓形木柱，銜接著量身訂製的餐桌。用餐空間由上方一扇高窗引入柔和自然光，營造寧靜而聚合的公共核心。私密機能集中配置於二樓，環形動線使空間在使用上保持彈性，為未來轉換成工作室或小型展覽空間預留可能性。南側塔狀空間藉由格柵樓板與白牆反射，形塑層次光感。隨著季節、時間與天氣變化，居住經驗在親密與開放之間不斷流動，成為一處隨日常變化的生活場域。
Despite the compact 49-square-meter site, the legally defined street width of 12 meters allowed ample vertical volume. The interior is conceived as a vertical one-room space formed by overlapping floor plates, niches, and voids. On the first floor, the sculptural façade is expressed internally as a round timber column, around which a custom table was built. This dining area is illuminated from above by a north-facing clerestory window opening toward the greenway, creating a calm communal space filled with natural light. Private functions are on the second floor, organized in a circular flow, allowing flexible occupation and future adaptation. Natural light is introduced to accommodate uses such as an office or gallery. A tower-like vertical void on the south side allows light enters from openings at various heights and directions, reflecting off white surfaces to creating a soft, atmospheric glow. This shifting quality of light—changing with the season, time of day, and weather—produces an interior that is alive with subtle variations, offering a living environment that is both intimate and expansive.
